Easter is only a heartbeat away and everyone is getting ready for the Easter table. Surprise your family and loved ones by preparing a traditional Italian Easter delicacy, the Cuzzupa Calabrese.
This delicious bread that tastes quite like brioche is the perfect breakfast, snack and accompaniment for your afternoon tea or coffee.
You can glaze it with the icing or add your favourite spreads, like jam or Nutella. Once you make it, you will love it!

Ingredients
2 ? teaspoons yeast
1 ? cups cooled boiled milk
a pinch of salt
5 1/2 tablespoons softened butter
3 beaten eggs
1/2 cup sugar
3 ½ cups flour
3 uncooked eggs

Icing
1 ½ cups confectionary sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 – 4 tablespoons of milk
prinkles

Instructions:

Combine yeast, milk, salt, softened butter, 2 eggs and sugar in a bowl and mix.
Add half the flour and beat using a dough hook.
Slowly add the rest of flour, or more until no longer sticky. Knead until smooth.
Place in a bowl greased with some oil, cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled.
Divide into 3 pieces and roll each one to form a thick rope. Form a braid and loop into a circle.
Place on a greased baking sheet, cover and let rise, until doubled.
Brush the bread with the other beaten egg. In the middle place the uncooked eggs.
Bake at 180 degrees until golden – about 40 minutes.
Icing: Mix the confectionary sugar, vanilla and the milk, one tablespoon at a time.
Brush the bread with the icing using a pastry brush and top with sprinkles, if desired.
